Liberty still looking for first win

LIBERTY – The West-Oak Warriors dominated the field Friday night during their game against the Liberty Red Devils winning 47-7. West-Oak came into the game with one win and two losses to Liberty’s 3 losses making Liberty’s losing streak to nine in a row including last year’s last five losses.

Pickens County School District Superintendant Henry Hunt was the captain of honor at Friday night’s game. Radio station HOT 98.1 was also in attendance to give out shirts, key chains and other prizes.

At the end of the first quarter of play, West-Oak lead 7-0 after Adrian Bibb ran for 69 yards for a touchdown. The field goal attempt was good.

About mid-way into the second quarter, West-Oak’s Evan Small completed a pass to Adrian Bibb for 10 yards running the score up to 14-0. Liberty bounced back to score there first and only score of the night when Brandon Wiles ran for 6 yards to score a touchdown.

West-Oak quickly responded with another completed pass to Rodney McDowell for 21 yards and a touchdown to go into halftime winning 21-7.

In the third quarter, the Warriors scored on the Red Devils three more times making the score 41-7.

West-Oak continued to dominate the game in the fourth quarter opening the last quarter with a touchdown run by Khalil Jenkins for 18 yards.

The final score would be West-Oak 47, Liberty 7 in another Liberty heartbreaker.

Liberty will travel to Spartanburg to face Landrum this Friday night in hopes of finding their first win of the season.
