“This is a highly competitive invitational based on the student’s individual abilities on their instruments and their past placements at Region and All-State bands,” Easley Band Director Patrick Mainieri said.
These five students will be interacting with students from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia.
Easley band members accepted were Senior Melissa Smith, clarinet; Junior Erin Leonard, clarinet; Senior Bendon Dail, trumpet; Senior Jusus Bautista, trombone and Senior Elliot Cleveland, percussion.
“The EHS band, parents and Boosters congratulate these fine students on their accomplishment,” Lee Lemere of the EHS Band Booster Club said.
The Winthrop Band Clinic will take place on the Winthrop campus and a free concert will be held in Byrnes Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
The EHS Marching Band performed at the 15th annual Loy E. Wagner Band Invitational at Palmetto High School on Oct. 17 and earned first place horn line, first place drum line, first place color guard, a superior rating and Grand Champions of the Gold Division.
They will be performing this Saturday in the South Carolina Band Directors Association AAAA Upper State Marching Band Festival and Championships at Boiling Springs High School. EHS will perform at 7:30 p.m.
“We would love to see a ‘sea of green’ in the stands cheering on our students,” said Mainieri.
