The Clemson C-4 Pershing Rifles will be recognized for its sixth-consecutive national championship drill team performance last spring, and members of the Clemson Senior Platoon will dot the “i” when the band spells out “Tigers” on the field. Marine Corps aircraft will perform a flyover following the national anthem.
Members of the Marine Corps Officer Programs attending Clemson will be introduced at the end of the first quarter of the football game.
Military veterans and current soldiers will participate in a parade onto the field at halftime and the families of fallen soldiers from South Carolina will be introduced. A wreath, helmet and boots will be placed on the field in remembrance of fallen soldiers and there will be a 21-gun salute by the Pershing Rifles, a playing of “Taps” and an Armed Forces service medley by the Clemson band.
T-shirts will be available commemorating the event with team colors from the University of Virginia and Clemson and 78 stars that represent South Carolina soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Clemson University Air Force and Army ROTC programs.
