EASLEY – Sgt. Will Black of Easley returned home from Afghanistan Wednesday just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Family and friends of Black decorated banners, hung yellow ribbons and placed flags throughout their yard to welcome the Marine home.

Black grew up in Johnson City, Tenn. but moved to Easley with his family several years ago. His parents, Dan and Julie Black are residence of Easley. Dan graduated from Easley High School in 1975. His grandparents Jim and Ann Black have been residents of Easley since 1972.

Black spent two years at Camp David where he met George and Laura Bush. He has been in the Marine Corps for five years and will return to Camp Lajeune in North Carolina permanently on Dec. 4. Black is part of Security Forces.

“We are really proud of him, and we are happy to have him home,” Jim said.
