High School region basketball begins tonight

UPSTATE – High school basketball has hit that part of the season when games really start heating up and region ball begins. Teams around the Upstate will play their first regional games tonight with hopes to take home the region title.

For AA ball, the Liberty Red Devils will travel to Wahalla to face the razorbacks. The Liberty boys’ varsity team started their season off at 5-4 and will face a close Wahalla team at 4-3. For the girls, a struggling Liberty team (2-4) will face a Wahalla team that is 3-4.

In AAA ball, Pickens boys are 3-7 and will travel to Seneca to face a 3-8 Bobcats team. The Lady Blue Flame team started off their season with a 6-2 record and will face Seneca at a 5-3-1 record.

Also in AAA, the Daniel Lions will travel to Woodmont. Daniel boys’ team (6-0) hopes to continue their undefeated streak while playing a 3-4 Woodmont team. The Lady Lions are 5-2 and will face a 0-5 Woodmont team that hopes to get its first win.

In AAAA, Easley boys (7-2) hope to reign over a 2-4 Laurens team. The Easley girls hope to get their first win of the season by defeating Laurens.
