As funds for education get cut even more, I hope Pickens County will do all they can to keep the music and arts programs alive for all county schools. The lessons learned in programs such as Region bands are invaluable to students now, as in their futures. Employers would benefit in the future to respect the work ethic that these students give to their respected arts. Students can not reach regional bands without extreme dedication by the student and the parents of the student. While students in all areas of the arts are often ridiculed by their peers, a student who excels is extremely self sufficient and driven.

Congratulations all who have achieved this recognition. And to their teachers who put in long hours after other teachers have gone home and on coveted weekends...keep it up. It is a passion no one can understand !!
