EASLEY – The City of Easley has been working toward being a more bicycle friendly city. In order to do so, Easley developed a Bicycle and Pedestrian Initiative master plan.
A letter between Easley’s Administrator Fox Simon and the South Carolina Department of Transportation stated restriping has started on several roads in the city. Portions of East 1st Ave, Russell St. to Pendleton/135, North A Street to North B Street, East Main St. to North A St. are being worked on.
Kent Dykes, Easley Chamber of Commerce President said the Green Wave 5K is in the works. This run will begin at the Rock House Restaurant to go to the new high school.
“There is a stream going along that distance,” he said. “There is a lot of potential there and people are very enthusiastic about it.”
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Initiative is a part of the Vision 2025.
