EASLEY – The Easley TIFF committee’s latest project is about 98 percent finished, according to Tommy Holcombe, Building Inspector for Easley.

Holcombe and company did a walk through of Easley’s newest “mini-park” in downtown at the former home to Donnie’s Taxi on Pendleton Street.

The park comes complete with a gazebo, a pond, a seating area and plant life for what Easley officials hope will serve as a great place for people to sit and enjoy while visiting the downtown area.

On Thursday, Holcombe said few things were left to do.

“A slick finish has to go up on the fountain and the walk-way should be finished within a week,” he said. “Besides that, we are pretty much done with that project. We didn’t run into any major problems during the inspection.”

The group hopes to address the building walls surrounding the area. They said they hoped to put up some murals of the mountains to top off the beauty of the project.

Easley Councilman Dave Watson congratulated the group on a job well done.

“So far, the project has exceeded my expectations,” he said. “I congratulate you guys on that. It looks great.”
