EHS Sam Young student toughs out the snow to ask Kelsey Wylie to be his prom date.
It’s that time of year again when the boys are hoping that she says “yes” to what may be the most important question they’ve asked thus far in their lives.
Yes, it’s that time again for prom.
Easley High School Student Body Vice President Sam Young toughed out the snow Tuesday for one reason – the perfect prom date.
Young wanted to ask Student Body President Kelsey Wylie to the prom, but he wanted to do it in a big way. So, on Tuesday, he posted the letters to spell out “Kelsey, will you go to prom with me?” on the school’s marquee sign so everyone could see it.
Just before the school dismissed early at noon for inclement weather, Wylie saw the sign and she said “yes.”
“Kelsey said ‘yes’ and she was excited,” Tracy Todd, history teacher at EHS and Student Council Advisor. “She said that was the cutest thing she had seen.”
Young and Wylie will join their EHS peers at this years prom set on May 16 at Fluor in Greenville.
