The Picasso Project is a statewide competition for art students across the state from public and private schools, home schooling and after-school programs.
Winners from Region I, which covers Anderson, Greenville, Pickens and Oconee counties will have their work on display through March 26.
Organizers say the competition “encourages philanthropic values and community involvement in South Carolina students.”
It is sponsored by the Children’s Trust of South Carolina, the state’s largest network of community-based organizations working for the prevention of child abuse, neglect and unintentional injuries.
The organization’s vision is “that every child will grow up in a safe, loving and stable environment.”
The trust distributes grants to direct service providers, awareness programs, community engagement and on advancing effective and evidence-based public policies centered on children being safe, healthy and educated and achieving positive permanent relationships.
