PICKENS — There is still time to register for the 4th Annual Pickens Azalea Festival 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Pickens Dental Associates and the Pickens Women’s Association. The run/walk will be held on Saturday, April 17th with a start time of 8:30 a.m. at Pickens High School. The course is a certified 5K event and will begin at the high school, make a loop round the city of Pickens and end back at the high school.

Proceeds from the run go to the Beverly M. Smith Scholarship fund.  The scholarship is awarded each year to a female from Pickens High School who exhibits exceptional leadership and civic skills. The Pickens Women’s Association, who organizes the race, is a non-profit women’s civic organization who raises money for a number of local charities including MARY’s House, Cannon Memorial Hospital and the Beverly M. Smith Scholarship Fund.

Registration for the race is $15 per person and includes a race t-shirt. If you would like more information about the race or to download a registration form, log onto www.pickensazaleafestival.org or call Tammy Brazinski at 898-1700.
