The bi-annual Pickens County Literacy Association book sale is set for April 30 and May 1, and organizers say thousands of books of all kinds will be offered, along with a white elephant sale.
“Donations of your unwanted, gently used books aid in raising money to cover tutoring materials,” said Everette Curl, long time member of the Literacy Association.
The latest sale will take place at All Saints Hall at Pickens Presbyterian Church Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For those wanting to donate books, drop off points are The Pickens Sentinel, Grace United Methodist Church, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pickens First Baptist Church, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, Pickens Savings & Loan, Palmetto Cleaners and Pickens Federal Credit Union.
In Easley, books can be dropped off at the Easley Progress, Medicine Mart, Frierson’s Drug Co. and Kelly’s Familty Pharmacy; in Central, town hall is the drop off spot; and in Clemson, donators can stop by Family Medicine Associates.
Also, if you have a lot of books to donate, pick up service can be arranged by calling 878-9642 or 639-2925.
