“Mr. Haynes has been a strong leader both as an interim principal and an assistant principal at Liberty Elementary,” said Dr. Henry Hunt, superintendent. “The staff and the community respect him, and he has great rapport with the children.”
Prior to being named interim principal, Haynes was assistant principal at Liberty Elementary and a teacher at Edwards Middle School. He began his career in the district in 1999.
He received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary administration and supervision from Clemson University.
Haynes said, “I am very excited to be named as principal of Liberty Elementary School. I thoroughly enjoyed serving as interim principal this year and consider myself blessed to be able to continue to serve in this position. Liberty Elementary is a very special place to come to work to each day. We have a dedicated staff, hardworking students, and a supportive community. I appreciate Dr. Hunt and the members of the school board giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank the faculty and staff members of Liberty Elementary School. They work hard to make a difference each day and they will always be the reason for our success.”
Haynes replaces Shaileen Riginos who resigned the position earlier this year.
