Ride for the Child keeps growing

Sometimes a good thing just keeps getting better. Many were concerned when Courtney Nations stepped down as the director of Prevent Child Abuse-Pickens County. The new director, Heather Witt, would be accepting her position just as Prevent Child Abuse Month began, and would have little time to put together the organization’s biggest fundraiser.

Witt exceeded anyone’s expectations, as the event set a new record. Blocking off West Main Street in front of Doodle Station for the post-ride activities was a good move, giving bikers the room to stretch out and enjoy the Spring afternoon.

We often forget the wide variety of walks of life found in motorcycle enthusiasts. People ranging from doctors and lawyers to factory workers joined together with just two things in common: A love for motorcycles and a love for children. We appreciate all who contributed to the success of this event.
