Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late William and Delphia Sentell Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was retired from Saco-Lowell after 33 years of service. He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Trotter Stewart; four children, Linda Ramey and her husband, Ronnie, of Easley, Steve Stewart and his wife, Annette, of Easley, Leslie Mayer and her husband, Mike, of Pelzer, and Darnell Corley and her husband, David, of Easley; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Sophie Mae Brooks and Estelle Jones both of Easley and Maybelle Phinney of NC; and two brothers, Clarence Stewart of Easley and Junior Stewart of Liberty.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m., Tuesday April 27, 2010, in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
