PICKENS — This year local Sons of Confederate Veterans camps are planning to celebrate Confederate Memorial Day Saturday with a program at historic Hagood-Mauldin House in Pickens.

Pickens County camps 7 and 71 will hold the ceremony from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to honor all of the veterans who served in the War for Southern Independence from Pickens County.

The program is open to the general public and those who wish to remember their ancestors who wore the gray and fought as Confederates, according to organizers.
