Fifteen Liberty athletes earn Diamond L award

LIBERTY—Fifteen Liberty High School athletes were presented the Diamond L Award for participating in three different sports during the 2009-10 school year.

Of the 15, 10 were on the school’s honor roll and three had previously earned Diamond L status.

Casey Reeves was the only senior to earn a Diamond L Award. Reeves participated in volleyball, girls basketball and softball.

The nine juniors who earned Diamond L honors were Brianna Bagwell, Audri Cuellar, Jake Goodnough, Andrew Hyde, Josh Roberts, Saul Rosa, Matt Smith. Kaspm Teague and Wesley Wells.

Bagwell played basketball and track and ran cross country.

Cuellar played volleyball, basketball and track.

Goodnough ran cross country and played both baseball and track in the spring.

Hyde played football, wrestling and track.

Roberts played football, basketball and baseball.

Rosa ran cross country and track and wrestled.

Smith ran cross county and track and played basketball

Teague played football, basketball and track.

Wells ran cross country and track and played basketball.

Sophomores to earn Diamond L honors were Amber King, Casey King and Phillip Rainwater.

Amber King played volleyball, basketball and track.

Casey King played golf, basketball and track.

Rainwater played football, wrestling and track.

Freshmen Dakota Stewart and Jakob Dismukes also earned Diamond L awards.

Stewart ran track and cross country and wrestled.

Dismukes played football for both the junior varsity and varsity teams. He also wrestled and was a member of the track team.
