EASLEY – Easley police say they are still in the interviewing stage of an investigation dealing with the death of a 7-month-old boy that has been ruled a homicide, according to Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley.

Kelley said Braydon Alexander Odell died of “non accidental head trauma” and was pronounced dead at Greenville Memorial Hospital on May 23 at 12:22 p.m.

Easley Police Department Maj. Tim Tollison said they are interviewing all the people who were at the location the night the incident happened.

Easley Police are working closely with the solicitor’s office before making a decision on any charges, according to Tollison.

“We want to gather what exactly happened,” Tollison said. “We are still in the gathering interviews and evidence stage.”

Tollison said no arrests have been made, and it may be several days or longer.

“It may be this week or it may not be,” he said. “We really can’t say.”

Tollison said EMS, Easley Police and Easley Fire all responded to a 911 call on May 20 around 8 p.m. to a home at 302 S. 5th Street after they received a call from a man at the residence saying he had an unresponsive infant.

Tollison said the infant was taken to Baptist Easley Hospital then transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Easley Police Department is investigating the incident.
