PICKENS – The Pickens Country Club will host a benefit golf tournament for former South Carolina House of Representatives member and Pickens resident Teddy Trotter in July.

Trotter was burned in an accident several months ago. The burns required him to be taken to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment. He currently remains under a doctor’s care during his recovery. Trotter has been a loyal supporter of the Pickens community and Pickens County as a whole.

The four man captain’s choice tournament will be held on July 17 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens County Country Club.

First, second and third place teams in each flight will be awarded with prizes. Flights will be determined by the number of entries. Awards will also be given for closest to the pin on all Par threes.

If a player makes a hole-in-one on a designated hole, they will win a cash prize of $10,000.

The cost to enter the tournament is $55 per person. This fee includes a lunch before the golf tournament.

Hole sponsorships will also be available for $50 per hole and scoreboard sponsorships for $100.
