Easley Farmers Market to hold 1st annual pie baking contest

EASLEY – In honor of the 4th of July holiday, the Easley Farmers Market has announced they will hold the first annual pie baking contest on July 3 beside the Farmers Market and in front of City Hall.

The categories for pies are fruit, nut and other for both adults and youth. The market asks that only amateur bakers enter the contest.

Only the first 25 pies in each category will be accepted.

The Easley Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at 205 N. 1st St. in Easley.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are offered including corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, onions, okra, green beans, peas, peaches, plums, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, fresh eggs and fresh goats milk.

The market also offers plants, yard ornaments, bird houses, corn hole games, dog and horse treats, fresh baked breads and cakes and pies.

To enter into the contest, please call City Hall at 855-7900 or pick up an entry form at City Hall.
