EASLEY — The 2010 Big League Baseball World Series has announced that Baptist Easley Hospital will be the presenting sponsor for the upcoming 10th anniversary world championship series that will be played July 28 – Aug. 4, 2010.
Throughout the past decade, some of the most talented 16-18 year-old baseball players from around the world have come to Easley, S.C., to play for the love of the game – and the title of Big League Baseball World Champion. The championship game will be televised live on ESPN.
“The Big League Baseball World Series Committee is ecstatic about the addition of Baptist Easley Hospital to our team,” said Jon Humphrey, tournament director. “The committee feels that the recent addition will not only allow the series to grow, but will also increase community involvement. We value our local community and look forward to the opportunities that our partnership will foster.”
Although this is the hospital’s first year as presenting sponsor, Baptist Easley Hospital has been involved with the Big League Baseball World Series since it came to Easley in 2001. Each year, the hospital donates money and volunteers to feed the teams for one night during the eight-day series. The Big League Baseball World Series and Baptist Easley Hospital share the aspiration for continual improvement at the close of each series.
