LIBERTY — James Leland Stewart, 91, went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2010. Born in Six Mile, he was the son of the late John Mac and Edna Clardy Stewart. James was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Dessie Riggins Stewart, one grandson, Mitchell Lee Stewart; daughter-in-law, Judy Stewart; one sister, Vera Merck; and one brother, William Stewart.

Those who have gone on before were his son, Leland Thomas Stewart; brothers, John, Paul, Clyde, and Lester Stewart; sisters, Velma Pilgrim, Geneva Taylor and Anna Bell Gilstrap.

Graveside service were conducted 3 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2010, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, mausoleum chapel, with Rev. William Heatherly officiating.
