Landmark Christian Academy was founded in 1974 and has offered Pickens County students a well-rounded education for years. The school decided to close its doors before the 2010-2011 school year approaches.
As of July 2009, the school had 123 students in grades Pre-K to twelfth grade and had 11 teachers on staff.
Tuition per student was $2,399. The school offered basketball, volleyball and soccer teams to their students.
In 2009, Landmark Christian School had the highest ranked K-5 and fifth grade classes in the nation with several other grades testing above the ninetieth percentile, according to a national private school Web site.
Landmark was Baptist affiliated and was apart of the American Association of Christian Schools, Other Religious School Associations and the National Association of Independent Schools.
Landmark has made no official decision on leasing the building to other school. A decision should be made soon.
