EASLEY— Four Philiappines pitchers combined for a 3-hit shut-out against the Netherlands Saturday afternoon to stay alive in the Big League World Series.

The Philippines won 2-0, evening up their record at 1-1 in the BLWS. The Philippines must defeat Panama Sunday afternoon to have hopes of playing in the semi-finals Tuesday.

Adriane Bernado pitched three no-hit innings to pick up the win. Andrew Tan, Gerald Mitra and Carolos Laurel each spent time on the pitcher’s mound, with Laurel picking up the save by pitching for the final out with two men on base.

Evan Simons, who pitched four innings and allowed just one run for the Netherlands, picked up the loss.

The Philappines got on the board in the third inning. Kevin Ramos singled, then scored when Sebastrian Miranda doubled.

The Philippines other ran came in the bottom of the fifth. Sebastian Miranda walked, then moved to second when Mark Ong walked. Miranda moved to third when Adriane Bernardo hit into a fielder’s choice play. Gerald Mitra then drove Miranda in with a single.

The Philippines will play Panama 5 p.m. Sunday. The Netherlands, 1-2, will face Puerto Rico 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the final pool play game for both teams.
