The Easley Fire Department arrived at the scene at 2:03 p.m., according to a department press release.
Firefighters had the fire under control after approximately one hour. Fire department personnel spend an additional two hours at the scene, conducting overhaul operations and making sure the fire was completely out, the release said.
Pickens County EMS responded to the scene because of the extreme heat and humidity, the release said.
Duke Power Company also responded to disconnect the power from the structure for the safety of the fire department personnel operating at the scene, the release said.
The American Red Cross responded to the scene to serve the victims of the fire, the release said.
The release said that no civilian or firefighters were injured in the incident. All firefighters at the scene were rotated through the department’s rehab area frequently to ensure their safety due to the weather conditions and the heat produced by the fire.
