EASLEY – An Easley Boy Scout troop attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree over the summer.

Boy Scout Troop 37, sponsored by Easley First Baptist Church attended the jamboree to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the United States. The jamboree was held at Fort A.P. Hill close to Washington, D.C.

The event hosted over 45,000 visitors everyday during the 10 day celebration from July 26 to Aug. 4.

Troop 37 Scoutmaster Bryan Dickard led 12 Boy Scouts and nine leaders and parents to the National Jamboree. The event hosted over 100 merit badges and exhibits.

Troop 37 participated in several events including a Robotic Merit Badge demonstration and re-enactment of the original Boy Scout camp in 1907 at Brownsea Island, England held by the founder of Boy Scouts, General Robert Baden-Powell.
