PICKENS COUNTY – Lifelong resident of Pickens County and 1990 Pickens High School graduate, Anthony Raines, is now a detective for the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

“I love my community and I want to make sure that it remains a safe place to live,” Raines said.

Raines began his career in law enforcement at the Sheriff’s Office in August of 2006 on the road patrol and is a Dec. 2006 graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

He was promoted to special projects officer in 2009, to master deputy in 2011, and to detective in 2012.

“The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is a great place to work. Everyone is very concerned about the citizens of Pickens County and everyone has a great attitude about improving Pickens County and making it a great place to live,” Raines said.

He is data master certified and a firearms instructor.

Raines is also the father of two sons.
