If you live in a city and community that you are proud of then you should just come forward and say so.

What better way to say so than thru a “letter to the editor” of your local newspaper.

I am talking about the City of Easley and the northside community. Last November every citizen of the community was invited to a meeting where plans were made and contributions were made to create a park, also called a “green space” at the corner of North B Street and and Main Street, at the new red light (sometimes called the 8th wonder of the world).

Many thanks to the volunteer commitee, and the cooperation of the city of Easley, the Green Space was completed this spring. This project probally saved the vacant lot from being paved over and made into a parking lot. Also many thanks go to Mrs. Holder who has started a project, just for North B Street. She provided a “Yard of The Week” sign that is moved from yard to yard. The recipient of the sign selects the next yard to display the sign and moves the sign there. The project runs from June thru September and the ownership pride shows all the way down the street. Now if we could only get rid of those ugly three way stop signs on each corner (total of 12) and replace them with speed bumps.
