CLEMSON — The body of a missing 21-year old has been found, according to officials with the Clemson Police Department.

On Tuesday, reports said the wallet of Andruw Earnhardt was found at Lake Hartwell. For five days, police, family, friends and officers with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (including divers) searched for any sign of Earnhardt.

On Sunday, around 9:30 a.m., officials with the Oconee County Coroner’s Office said the body of a male had been found on the Oconee County side of the lake in a cove. The area is near the Highway 76/123 bridge and the railroad trestle which spans Lake Hartwell in the Seneca River Basin, they said.

Authorities said preliminary indications were that the body was Earnhardt, but confirmation would come from the Oconee County Coroner, Carl Addis.

A gofundme has been set up for the family, with over $8,000 raised of a $10,000 goal.

Detectives with Clemson Police Department will continue to work with the Oconee County Corner’s Office to investigate the manner and cause of death, officials said.
