EASLEY — On March 28, at approximately 1:21 p.m. the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an adult male being shot on Carmel Woods Drive in Easley.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was located a few houses down from the incident location of 113 Carmel Woods Drive. The injured party was transported to the Greenville Hospital System for treatment for their injuries, according to a release from PCSO.
Pickens County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrived and began an investigation. A suspect was identified and brought to the C David Stone Law enforcement Center for questioning, they said.
“It appears the victim and suspect were familiar with each other and the incident was the result of a dispute,” said PCSO Chief Deputy Brett Barwick.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. Currently, Ben Junior Young (DOB 02-24-1976) is being charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Offense. Young will be held at the Pickens County Detention Center where he will await a bond hearing, they said.
