EASLEY — The regular football season hasn’t started yet, but if it’s football you’ve been wanting, six area teams squared off for a little taste of the gridiron at the annual Jamboree held recently at Easley High School.
The Jamboree featured three scrimmages — each lasting for two quarters.
The Trojans of Carolina High School played the Liberty Red Devils in the first game which kicked off at 6 p.m. after an hour of tailgating in and around the stadium. That game was followed by Southside vs. Clover at 7:15 p.m.
Easley took on Dorman for the final game of the night with players kicking off at 8:30 p.m.
“I think it was a good turn out,” said Gil Payne, Easley athletic director. “Everyone seems to be having a good time and it’s always a fun time of year when football’s back.”
Carolina ended up beating Liberty 24-8 and Clover toppled Southside 28-6. Easley hung in there against the always dominant Dorman but lost by a point with a final score of 15-16.
