CENTRAL — Alexa Ellyson, yearbook editor at Daniel High School, and assistant editors Dakota Dull and Lee McCaskill, along with yearbook advisor Ryan Patterson attended the 2015 Jostens Greenville Summer Yearbook Workshop in August.

They participated in workshops on photography, design and other yearbook-related topics. The students had the opportunity to sit down with a professional Jostens artist to design the cover for this year’s yearbook. They will use what they learned to lead this year’s staff as they design the 2016 Summit.

The workshop also featured a photography contest, where students from schools in North Carolina and South Carolina completed a scavenger hunt in downtown Greenville. Students had to demonstrate a variety of photography techniques while making sure that each photo included a beach ball given to them at the conference.

More than 250 photographs were submitted and judged by representatives of Jostens. Ellyson won third place overall with her photograph.
