PICKENS COUNTY — A 34-year-old Easley man remained in jail on Monday on first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges stemming from an incident on April 5.
Matthew Jamie Bryant, of 100 Hidden Acres Drive in Easley, was arrested April 9 at a home in Easley and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Bond has not been set.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office received information on April 5 that a female had been sexually assaulted by Bryant while both individuals were at a residence in Easley earlier the same day.
An investigation into the incident determined that Bryant grabbed the 17-year-old victim and physically forced her into a bedroom where she was thrown onto a bed and subsequently sexually assaulted against her will.
The victim and Bryant have mutual friends but are not related or involved in any type of relationship.
