CLEMSON — Doug Hallenbeck has been named Vice President for Student Affairs at Clemson University, following approval from the Board of Trustees Compensation Committee on July 18. Hallenbeck returns to Clemson after serving as Vice President for Student Affairs at Oklahoma State University from 2019-24.
In his new role beginning this fall, Hallenbeck will lead the Division of Student Affairs, encompassing areas responsible for supporting student success beyond the classroom.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hallenbeck back home to Clemson University,” said University President Jim Clements. “Dr. Hallenbeck’s leadership as Vice President of Student Affairs at Oklahoma State, coupled with his understanding of Clemson’s culture and our student body, will continue to help us deliver the No. 1 student experience in the country, and elevate Clemson University even higher.”

“I’m excited to return to Clemson and build upon the great work done to create a unique and positive experience for each of our students and look forward to working with my colleagues in Student Affairs and across the university as we continue to position Clemson as the best university in the nation,” said Hallenbeck. “I can’t wait to get back to the Upstate and get started.”
As Senior Associate Vice President, Hallenbeck held administrative oversight of several areas: housing and dining, campus activities and events, campus recreation, student health services and TigerOne card services. He chaired the Crisis Management Team, co-chaired the Judicial Hearing Board and served as an advisor to Clemson Undergraduate Student Government.
