EASLEY — “It pops! It looks clean. He (owner Matthew Henderson) has state-of-the-art equipment. He’s motivated and energized about it. He has spent the money right.”

Those were the words of Tucker Harding, the Vice President or Zorn Company, who was in charge of the 7 1/2-month project of building the new Super Clean Laundry in downtown Easley. It is located at 220 East Main St. (right down from Joe’s Ice Cream Parlor) and it is open 24/7.

Harding, a 1995 Seneca High School graduate, added, “His main focus (Henderson’s) is he wants there to be no reason for the customers not to come back. He wants it well-lit. He wants to the women to feel safe – no tripping hazards or any doors to have to hold. It was all customer based and he is super motivated. He has a couple of other laundromats and a lot of the decisions he made was based on the other ones.”

Several family members and friends (of Henderson) did show up to Saturday’s ribbon cutting at the Super Clean Laundry facility. Serving as the General Manager will be Bob Dicker.

“I think Easley definitely needed something like this to bring laundry into the 21st century and we are glad to do it,” said Henderson, the proud owner. “We wanted to offer that for the folks here – day or night. On any day, you can stay here with a comfortable temperature and we made it user-friendly.”

The high ceilings help the wind flow inside of the facility. There are a couple different ways to pay (card or cash). They also sell soap and detergent and have an ATM machine to withdraw money if needed. There is Wi-Fi on the property>

“We doubled the cooling system, so that any day you can stay here at a comfortable temperature,” Henderson said. “We thought that was a big concern and making it user-friendly. A lot of our aisles are set up with multi-sized washers where you can stay in one area and use different-sized washers.”

If that is not enough, there are six televisions (each one is a 65-inch) for the families to watch TV while they are doing their laundry.

Plus, Henderson said they have the biggest washer in Easley at 120 pounds (fits 12 loads of laundry). That means football teams, baseball teams soccer teams, big rugs, fire departments, etc. can utilize that if needed. In fact, Henderson said he has three of these 120-pound washers at the Super Clean Laundry facility.

“Our lives are so busy nowadays and now you can have everything done in an hour,” concluded Henderson. “I’m just tickled to be here and am excited about it. It will help folks out – we hope – in a great way.”
