CENTRAL — Faculty and staff at Central Academy of the Arts were surprised this week, as members of ALIVE Wesleyan Church, in partnership with Joe’s New York Pizza, provided a hot, take-home pasta meal to each staff member as they returned to work for the new school year. This gesture of support and appreciation was provided by ALIVE’s “Love A School” initiative, one in which strives to encourage, support and invest in educators and students in our community.
“The first week of school can be so hectic for teachers,” said Pastor Scott Simmons of ALIVE Wesleyan Church. “Classroom preparations, scheduled meetings, orientation, and registration can be so demanding, it often takes time away from their own families. Providing dinner is a small way that can alleviate stress and show support as these teachers ready themselves for our students for the upcoming school year. ALIVE wants teachers to know how much they are appreciated and valued.”
Over 75 pasta meals were distributed to staff at Central Academy of the Arts, offering them a warm dinner to enjoy with their families after a busy day of welcoming new students at Meet the Teacher.
Principal Tish Goode shared, “We appreciate the support of all our business partners, and are grateful to ALIVE Wesleyan and Joe’s New York Pizza for providing this meal for our staff.”
The School District of Pickens County welcomed students back into their classrooms on Aug. 1.
