CENTRAL — Southern Wesleyan Men’s Basketball and Head Coach Joel Stites are excited to announce the addition of 11 signees in the 2025 signing class. The Warriors will bring in three freshman and eight transfers in the class. Southern Wesleyan will welcome Malachi Cooper, Jayden Guillaume, Ashton Williams, Hudson Yarbrough, Will Little, Talton Jones, David Witcher, Josh Parker, Jaquay Randolph, Nathanael Lewis, and Valdy Zephir to the Warrior family this fall.

The Warriors will bring in three freshman in Malachi Cooper, Jayden Guillaume and Ashton Williams.

Southern Wesleyan’s first freshman signee is Malachi Cooper. Cooper will travel to Central via Columbia, SC where he played as a combo guard for Ridge View High School. While playing for the Blazers, he helped the team win back-to-back 4A and 5A state championships during his junior and senior seasons. In his junior season, his team went on to be named the National Division Champions of the Chic-Fil-A Classic which led them to be invited to the Throne National Championships in New Jersey.

Jayden Guillaume will join the Warriors via Tampa, Fla. He attended SLAM! Tampa for high school where he played as a forward. His favorite quote says, “A negative mind will never give you a positive life.”

Guillaume and Cooper will be joined by fellow freshman, Ashton Williams. Williams, a native of Poulan, Ga., attended Worth County High School where he served as a point guard. Under the guidance of his dad as the coach, Williams and his team were able to make school history as they won the region championship. At the end of the season, he was named both the Region and State Player of the Year. He went on to surpass 1,900 career points. A WilliamsHis favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 which reads, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Southern Wesleyan adds to their depth with eight transfer athletes.

Transferring in to Southern Wesleyan from Hawaii is Hudson Yarbrough. A native of Waiehu, Hawaii, he attended Baldwin High School. During his high school career, he was named the Player of the Year in the district and his team was able to advance to the state semi-final. After graduation he spent time at both Elite Prep and Hawaii Pacific. Yarbrough served as a forward for the teams.

Will Little will join the Warriors after playing for Bryn Athyn College for three seasons. A guard and wing out of Baltimore, Maryland, he was named 1st Team All-Conference two times. He also reached 1000 career points during his career with the Lions. Not only did he reach 1000 career points, but he is also holds the record as the program’s all time leading scorer.

A native of Fayetteville, NC, Talton Jones will travel to Central, SC after graduating from EE Smith High School. During his junior season, his team advanced to the state championship. Jones mentioned that his favorite moment from that season was walking from the beach to the main court and just knowing all the hard work that they had put in to get to that moment. After graduation, Jones spent time at Cape Fear Community College and Allen University. He has played as both a point and shooting guard during his career. His favorite Bible verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The Warriors will bring in two transfers from Toccoa Falls College in David Witcher and Josh Parker.

David Witcher will join the Warriors from Royston, Ga., after spending his first three years with the Screaming Eagles. During his freshman season, Toccoa Falls won the championship. The Screaming Eagles went on to reach the semifinals when Witcher was a sophomore, before making it back to the championship game in his third season in Toccoa, GA. Prior to playing as a guard for Toccoa Falls, Witcher played for Franklin County High School.

He will be joined by another Screaming Eagle in Josh Parker. Parker comes to Warriors as a graduate student from Dekalb County, Georgia. He played at Toccoa Falls for two seasons where he started in 43 of the 44 games he played in. Parker averaged 17.7 points per game and 6.4 assists per game. He helped the Screaming Eagles win a conference title and earned All-Conference honors in the process.

Valdy “V” Zephir will also join the Warriors via the Peach State. A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Zephir attended Walnut Grove High School where he averaged 10 points per game. He kicked off his collegiate career by spending time at both Harris-Stowe and Coastal Georgia. While at Coastal Georgia, he averaged eight points per game. Originally from Haiti, the forward’s favorite quote is, “I came this far, why stop now.”

Southern Wesleyan will welcome in Jaquay Randolph from Tallahassee, Fla. After graduating high school from Maclay School, the power forward and center spent the beginning of his collegiate career at Southeastern University. His favorite quote is, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Nathaneal Lewis joins the Warriors team as the lone International student athlete this year. Lewis, a native of London, United Kingdom, graduated high school from Bracknell and Wokingham before spending time at On Point Academy. Lewis shared that he had a late growth spurt in high school that finished with him being 6’5”. While in the UK, he spent a lot of time at outdoor parks putting up over 250 shots a day to get the opportunity to play college basketball. The wing started off his collegiate career at Morton College. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 which reads, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
