EASLEY — A 21-year old male has been charged following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the August 3 shooting death of Corey Rider Vickery.
On August 3, 2024, deputies responded to 123 Donna Lane in Easley, South Carolina, in reference to a report that someone at the residence had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim in the yard with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died from his injuries.
Since the incident occurred, detectives have continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which included collecting additional evidence and interviewing parties associated with both the victim and the suspect in an effort to identify what transpired.
Micah Javon Duckett was taken into custody on Aug. 14 without incident at his residence. He was charged with murder by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
A bond hearing scheduled for the following morning was waived.
Duckett will remain in custody at the Pickens County Detention Center.
