EASLEY — A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital Thursday morning following a crash with a Pickens County school bus in Easley.
Officials said the crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 8 at Hideaway Court, near the intersection of Mauldin Road.
The School District of Pickens County confirmed that Easley Bus 26, which was taking 38 students to Gettys Middle School and Easley High School, was involved in the accident.
According to authorities, the school bus was slowing down to stop and pick up a student when a motorcycle ran into the back of the bus.
All students on board, as well as the bus driver, were not injured.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken by Life Flight for medical care and police say they are in stable condition with several broken bones.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
The schools said parents and guardians of the students who were on the bus were notified.
An additional bus came to the scene to take the students to Gettys Middle School and Easley High School.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
