PICKENS COUNTY — Trailing 22-10 at halftime, the Easley football team put on their rally caps and turned in a 30-22 victory over host Woodmont.

Easley senior Cason Brewington, the Athlete of the Week (in this edition), had a monster game with 220 yards rushing on 26 carries, two touchdowns, nine tackles and a forced fumble. QB Jojo Coleman was 11-of-15 for 90 yards. His favorite target was senior Matthew Hillstock with five catches for 46 yards.

For the season, Hillstock has 476 receiving yards (seven touchdowns) on 42 receptions.

Not to be overlooked was EHS senior punter Evan Massey with four punts for 164 yards (41.0 avg.).

Jakryic Jamison led the Green Wave defense with 11 tackles (six solos, five assists), Kobe Preston had 10 tackles (four solos, six assists), Brewingtonhad 9 tackles (six solos, three assists), Kaden Cooper had six tackles (four solos, two assists) and Trent Coker had six tackles (two solos, four assists).

In other action, Daniel reeled off 27-straight points in the second half to give Seneca their lone loss of the year at 27-16.

“We just could not do anything offensively in the second half,” said Seneca coach David Crane, whose team suffered their first loss of the season and fell to 5-1. “We just left the defense on the field way too long. It wasn’t for a lack of trying. We tried spread stuff, tight end stuff, and about everything personnel wise that we could but could get anything going.”

Added Coach Crane, ”We knew coming in that Daniel’s defensive line can affect the game.”

For Daniel, freshman running back Kingsten Bibb fumbled early on and then bounced back to have two key touchdowns.
